U.S. Navy SEALs Physical Conditioning & Preparedness for (BUD/S)
Due to the nature of this very intense and demanding School, it is highly recommended you properly prepare for the rigors you will face ahead at BUD/S- (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs), prior to even shipping out for Bootcamp. If you have been active in High School or College athletics, or currently been undergoing regular moderate-to-high intensity exercise that consists of running, swimming, weight training or calisthenics, you are one step ahead. You could possibly be prepared in as little as 9 months.
However, if you do not fit this category, you will most likely require over 1-year or longer to properly prepare. It takes time to build endurance and this is especially so of strengthening the lower extremities for the rigors of running long distance in the sand while wearing boots and long pants. Often times wet more so than dry, and SANDY! Don't get caught at BUD/S ill-prepared...! You WILL get squeezed OUT of the program at the very least, if not injured!
