Dieting and Fad Diets There are a vast amount of scrupulous methods and unhealthy "trickery" posted on-line and within books on how to "lose weight fast" sold to the public by "self acclaimed experts" for mere monetary gain on their part. BE WARNED! If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! If your lucky, it may just turn out to prove ineffective towards reaching your goals, but in some cases, may even cause harm to your mind and body in several ways.

Fad diets of ALL types should be avoided for health concerns and for the simple fact...THEY DO NOT WORK, regardless of what you read or your friends and family tell you! None of these are successful nor healthy. You should stick to good sound nutritional science to promote health and performance and manage your weight.
Some common fad diets including inadequate and zero-carb diets and extreme calorie restricted dieting including a diet consisting of refined sugars, junk foods, colas, fast foods, can lead to a number of health problems, diseases and negative conditions found not to be so uncommon in America, including but not limited to adult onset diabetes. Which is rapidly becoming a major problem in our society(U.S. America).
There is a basic calorie amount for all of us, based on sex, age and daily energy needs and if you undermine these simple needs, you will only succeed in gaining extra fat, losing hard earned muscle tone, and decrease your performance and daily functionality. Not to mention, setting yourself up for potential health problems consistant failure.
The no-carb diet sucks if your priorities include being strong, energetic and mentally "there".
Side effects of the low carb and no carb diets include but are not limited to:
- Drastic Fluctuating & "crashing" Blood Sugar Levels
- Mood Swings
- Irritability
- Fatigue/weakness
- Depression and hormonal fluctuations/imbalances
- Decreased focus/concentration
- Headaches
- Rebound weight gain (adipose tissue, AKA. FAT)
Scientific evidence states carbohydrates are necessary on a cellular level for replenishment of cells within our bodies and for serving primarily as a macro-nutrient utilized for energy production for working muscles. Also helps the body use fat more efficiently. That statement alone should make most people want to stop the insanity of the zero-carb dieting.
